Known as “Everybody's Friend” for her social grace and warmth, Emily Tehila Damari has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those in Kibbutz Kfar Aza and beyond. Her happiness binds her circle of friends together. "She's the glue of us all," shares Inbar,  her close friend.​

Tragically, on the morning of October 7th, amidst a brutal assault on southern Israel, Emily was forcefully taken from the safety of her home by Hamas terrorists. This harrowing event has mobilized her loved ones and the wider community in a fervent campaign for her return. Guy, a friend, has voiced  palpable concern for her well-being, adding a profound urgency to their pleas for her safe recovery.​

​In January of 2025, to the great joy of her family and friends, Emily was released and returned to her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza after 471 days in captivity.​
